The Sexhibition Interactive Exhibit was the result of a semester long project in collaboration with an amazing team of designers: Bruno Berry, Kate Whitney, Natalie Salk and Kaylin Broussard. We utilized the Double Diamond Design Method (Discover - Define - Design - Deliver) to create our exhibition. Our research revealed a link between lack of healthy sexual communication and satisfaction. So, we wanted people to talk about it! We aimed to design an exhibition to facilitate conversations about sexual things naturally without the shame.

The final deliverable, The Sexhibition, was comprised of four different stations: the Language of Love & Magic, The Yarn Wall, Mad Lips, and a Sensory Room of Secrets. Feel free to check it all out below.

Stop 1 |

The Language of

Love & Magic

Here our participants were invited to play with spheres corresponding to the love languages. It was an engaging way for people to begin talking about love in an organic and fun way. Who doesn’t love magic floating things??

Stop 2 | The Yarn Wall

Here we invited our participants to take a color of yarn which resonated to them. They were then asked to wrap the yard around pegs with words they liked or felt drawn to. The transparent wall served as a medium for the participants to be able to see through to the other side and subsequently the words their partnered chose.

Stop 3 | The Mad Lips Wall

The Mad Lips wall served as a fun and interactive way to get some conversations started. Vinyl words were cut out and placed on tiles designed to fit onto the wall. Like Mad Libs (yes, the kind you filled in as a kid) these words were a bit more scandalous and engendered conversations between participants. When the wall was full, it glittered!

Stop 4 | Sensory Room of Secrets

Our final stop was an intimate setting designed to relax your senses and put you at ease. We provided something for every sense: diffuser scents for smell, relaxing sounds, dim lights, and candy. The room centered around a Take A Secret container where participants placed an anonymous secret and were allowed to read a different secret. We heard from the participants it provided a cathartic experience to write down a secret weighing on them.
