Portable Oxygen concentrator redesign
A well known innovation conglomerate approached us to redesign their existing portable oxygen concentrator. The culmination of a 12 week studio project, Always G02 is the result of research and iterative designs. My partner Bruno Berry and I utilized the Double Diamond Design Process to identify needs and design accordingly. Through secondary research it became apparent the main reason for lack of use was the stigma associated with a medical device as well as devices impeding every day activities. To eliminate the stigma and alleviate daily limitations, the integrated soft textile design of Always G02 doubles as a gender neutral bag seamlessly integrated into your daily life.
Over the 12 week process, Bruno and I identified an opportunity for an upper body wearable device. We constructed a weighted device to explore weight distribution on the body and moved forward with a bandolier style wearable. The final deliverables were a "looks like" rendering and a "works like" physical textile model. Our final presentation was to a panel of engineers and designers from the company. We received incredibly positive feedback about our designs.
